* Delta Phi Epsilon was founded at New York University Law School on March 17, 1917.
 
* The first chapter was founded by five women
                 *Dorothy Cohen Schwartzman
                 *Ida Bienstock Landau
                 *Minna Goldsmith Mahler
                 *Eve Effron Robin
                 *Sylvia Steinman Cohn

* We were founded on the principles of Justice, Sisterhood, and Love.

* We are the first non-sectarian social sorority and the only one founded in a professional school.
 
* We have a strong International Policy against hazing which helps to develop a meaningful pledge education program.
 
* There are more than 45,000 initiated members worldwide, with chapters in the U.S. and throughout Canada.
 
* Every two years, D Phi E holds an International Convention to which the chapters send two delegates expense-free to form     the Grand Chapter.
 
* Nationally, we are referred to as D Phi E and "the deephers".
